1.Personal Computer- is any general-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and original sales price make it useful for individuals, and which is intended to be operated directly by an end-user with no intervening computer operator
2. Main frame- are powerful computers used mainly by large organizations for critical applications, typically bulk data processing such as census, industry and consumer statistics, enterprise resource planning, and financial transaction processing.
3. Workstations- is a high-end microcomputer designed for technical or scientific applications. Intended primarily to be used by one person at a time, they are commonly connected to a local area network and run multi-user operating systems
4. Desktop- is a personal computer (PC) in a form intended for regular use at a single location, as opposed to a mobile laptop or portable computer.
5. Handheld Personal Computers- is a term for a computer built around a form factor which is smaller than any standard laptop computer. It is sometimes referred to as a Palmtop
6. Personal Digital Assistants- also known as a palmtop computer, or personal data assistant, is a mobile device that functions as a personal information manager. Current PDAs often have the ability to connect to the Internet.
7. Tablet PC- is tablet-sized computer that also has the key features of a full-size personal computer
8. Super Computer- Supercomputers are used for highly calculation-intensive tasks such as problems involving quantum physics, weather forecasting, climate research, molecular modeling (computing the structures and properties of chemical compounds, biological macromolecules, polymers, and crystals), and physical simulations (such as simulation of airplanes in wind tunnels, simulation of the detonation of nuclear weapons, and research into nuclear fusion)
